What motivates the leaders of the United Kingdom Independence Party?

UKIP Comes of Age!

The UK Independence Party, during a speech from its leader Lord Pearson, yesterday came of age in Milton Keynes.

Significantly the speech was carried live on the twenty-four hour TV news channel of the BBC.

Equally significantly, from a review of the online editions of the UK print media, it has been almost entirely ignored by the UK newspapers. The Irish Times, however, has a report linked from here.

The Financial Times has a curious item about Lord Pearson, linked here, presumably as cover for its lack of reporting on the substance of his speech and the crucial issues raised for Britain's democracy!

The BBC web report is here.

Further evidence that the Party is leaving behind its fractious childhood and awful adolescence comes from the fact that the speech IS available in full on the Party's own web site linked here!
